C.O.S. INTERNAL REGULATIONS
(COORDINAMENTO  OPERATORI SHIATSU )

GENERAL RULES

ART. 1 Any changes to these regulations and anything else concerning the same, are the exclusive competence of the C.O.S. Board of Directors.

ART. 2 The possible establishment of common bodies and association in any form with institutions, bodies or other associations, must be decided by the C.O.S. Members' Assembly.

ART. 3 The C.O.S. Board of Directors establishes the seat of the Presidency in Rimini in via Teodorico, 15 and the headquarters of the Secretariat / Treasury in Castions di Zoppola (PN) in via Gorizia, 26, reconfirming or changing them at each mandate.

ART. 4 The minutes of the C.O.S. Board of Directors meetings, of the C.O.S. Members' Assemblies and of any other C.O.S. Bodies that may be appointed, the Members' Register, the Professional List, the C.O.S. Teachers' Register and the List of Member Schools shall be kept in the Presidency. The remaining books intended for accounting will be kept in the Secretariat/Treasury. It will be possible to keep the aforementioned documentation in a different location from that assigned exclusively and for the entire period necessary for the drafting, updating and anything else concerning the same.

ART. 5 Every year the C.O.S. Board of Directors establishes the membership fees that will be attached to these Internal Regulations. In order not to penalize those who enroll during the year, the membership fee for the first year of membership will be proportionate to the months of actual membership in the association. The membership fee of the new member, from the second year onwards, will be aligned with that provided for by the regulations.

ART. 6 The C.O.S. Board of Directors validly deliberates with the presence of the majority of its members.

ART. 7 The President of the C.O.S., in case of urgency, has the power to take measures in matters falling within the competence of the C.O.S. Board of Directors.

The President of the C.O.S. within and no later than one month from the adoption of the aforementioned shall convene the C.O.S. Board of Directors which will examine the measures themselves to ratify them or not. In the event of expiry of the aforementioned term, the measures will lapse.

Art. 8 The President of the C.O.S. may call other persons to preside over the C.O.S. Members' Assembly in his place. In these cases, the minutes of the assembly are signed by the President of the C.O.S. and by the President of the C.O.S. Members' Assembly.

ART. 9 The members of the Board of Directors, the Examining Committee, the Board of Arbitrators and the Auditor of the C.O.S., lose their office at the second consecutive absence from the meetings of the bodies to which they belong, without adequate reasons. The forfeiture is declared by the body, in the session following that in which the second absence occurs, and the first of the non-elected or a reserve, if they have been designated, is appointed in place. The body, having resolved the forfeiture, must inform the C.O.S. Board of Directors and the former member by registered letter with return receipt or certified email.

ART. 10 For all requests for access to the records, the C.O.S. Board of Directors reserves the right to accept them taking into account the rules relating to the EU Privacy Regulation GDPR 2016/679. However, all expenses are borne by the applicant.

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION IN THE PROFESSIONAL LIST OF C.O.S. PRACTITIONERS

ART. 11 To be registered at C.O.S., the following training certificates are requested:

1. a high school diploma or equivalent qualification;
2. certificates of attendance certifying the training process carried out at a School/Institution belonging to C.O.S. or school in any case identified by the C.O.S. Board of Directors and which meets the parameters of the participating schools;
3. three-year training curriculum or in any case for a total of at least 650 hours, consisting of:

• at least 500 hours of theoretical-practical lectures relating exclusively to shiatsu;
• At least 150 hours of guided and certified practices and/or guided and certified internships, in addition to the academic process of the school.

Candidates who do not have a high school diploma must attach all the qualifications and certificates of training and professional experience obtained to the application form. The C.O.S. Board of Directors will evaluate, on a case-by-case basis, whether they can be considered equivalent to the required qualification.

In the event that a candidate is unable to provide documentation relating to the required training process (qualifications obtained abroad, training completed at a great distance of time or similar), the C.O.S. Board of Directors may examine, in order to accept the application for registration with the C.O.S., documentation certifying experience gained in the field of shiatsu through professional practice continuous for at least 5 years.

HOW TO REGISTER

ART. 12 It is possible to register in the COS Professional List of Practitioners in the following ways:

• Passing an entrance exam
• By submitting documentation certifying membership in another professional association that meets the C.O.S. requirements.

ART. 13 Excluded from the obligations of art. 12 are natural or legal persons who intend to join with the sole purpose of supporting the C.O.S. through a liberal donation.

RULES GOVERNING ADMISSION TO THE EXAMS FOR REGISTRATION IN THE C.O.S. PROFESSIONAL LIST OF PRACTITIONERS

ART. 14 To apply for admission to the examination for registration in the C.O.S. Professional List of Practitioners, the following documentation must be provided:

• application to be drawn up on the appropriate form
• certification of the training process
• cover letter written by the school of origin
• european format curriculum vitae (dated and signed)
• photocopy (front and back) of a valid identity document
• Tax code
• photocopy of payment of the exam registration fee.

Admission will be considered formalized, with the payment of the exam registration fee and the sending of all the documentation to the C.O.S. Secretariat before and no later than the 30th (thirtieth) day before the date set for the exam session. In the event of surplus applications, the order of receipt will be taken into account.

It will be at the discretion of the President of the C.O.S. Examining Committee to accept late applications according to the number of candidates or to postpone the surplus applications to the next session.

Those who decide to submit a thesis must send it to the C.O.S. Examining Committee no later than the 30th (thirtieth) day before the date of the exams.

The C.O.S. Secretariat will send candidates the convocation containing the date, time and place of the exam within 15 days of the same by letter or other means of communication.

ART. 15 At least one examination session will be held each fiscal year. The date of the session must be established by the C.O.S. Board of Directors, which will make it known by publishing it on the website and communicating it to the Member Schools by email.

ART. 16 The exam consists of two tests, one practical and one theoretical. The description of the examination tests is specified in the Examination Regulations for registration in the C.O.S. Professional List, attached to these C.O.S. Internal Regulations.

Art. 17 Future examinees may attend the exams, as observers, in such a number as not to cause disturbance and at the discretion of the C.O.S. Examining Committee, by applying to the C.O.S. Secretariat (also by telephone) within five days of the session.

ART. 18 The C.O.S. Secretary will always be present at the exam sessions, for the correct performance of all the procedures concerning:

• the registrations of candidates for the association and for the exams;
• the control of the documentation submitted by the candidates and the possible integration of the missing ones;
• the preparation of the exam reports and their delivery to the Examining Commission of the C.O.S.;
• the collection of the exam reports for archiving at the C.O.S. Secretariat.

ART. 19 Practitioners who have passed the examination, referred to in the previous articles, will submit an application for registration in the Professional List of Practitioners of the C.O.S. Registration is formalized by the C.O.S. Board of Directors at the first subsequent meeting after viewing the exam reports.

Professional Members registered in the C.O.S. Professional List of Practitioners may give consent, with a special form, to the disclosure of their data for professional purposes in the ways provided for by C.O.S. (telephone, internet, publications, etc.).

RULES GOVERNING DIRECT REGISTRATION IN THE C.O.S. PROFESSIONAL LIST OF PRACTITIONERS

ART. 20 Practitioners who, at the time of the application for registration with the C.O.S., have already passed an entrance examination to another List or Professional Register of national or foreign associations comparable to the C.O.S. recognition parameters, may apply for direct registration in the C.O.S. Professional List with the appropriate form, attaching documentation relating to the certificate obtained at the association of origin.

The acceptance of the application will be subject to the evaluation, by the C.O.S. Board of Directors, of compliance with the C.O.S. parameters of the documentation submitted and deliberated by the C.O.S. Board of Directors in the first meeting following receipt of the aforementioned documentation.

ART. 21 Practitioners who, at the time of the application for registration with the C.O.S., have already passed an entrance examination to another List or Professional Register of foreign associations that have not entered into mutual recognition agreements with the C.O.S., may in any case apply for direct registration in the C.O.S. Professional List with the appropriate form, attaching:

• documentation relating to the certificate obtained from the association of origin;
• explanatory documentation, certified by the association of origin, about the rules for carrying out the exams taken.

The acceptance of the application will be subject to the evaluation, by the C.O.S. Board of Directors, of compliance with the C.O.S. parameters of the documentation submitted and deliberated by the C.O.S. Board of Directors in the first meeting following receipt of the aforementioned documentation.

RULES RELATING TO THE COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF C.O.S. PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS

ART. 22 It is the obligation of the C.O.S. Professional Members to continuously update their preparation through studies and attendance of courses and internships of at least 8 (eight) hours in a single event.

In order to maintain visibility on the site and receive "the certificate of quality and professional qualification of the services provided" (art. 7 L. 4/2013) the update itself is regulated as follows:

1. Members who update themselves through participation in a C.O.S. national conference will be considered updated for a period of 2 (two) years. Example: the member who participates in the national conference in October 2025 is to be considered updated until the conference in October 2027 or, for simplicity’s sake, until December 31, 2027.
2. Members who update themselves through a course or internship recognized by the C.O.S. as valid for the purposes of updating, will be considered updated until December 31 of the following year. Example: the member who participates in a course or internship validated by the C.O.S. in May 2025 will be updated until December 31, 2026.

Regardless of the above, new members are invited to participate in the first useful National Conference organized by the C.O.S.

ART. 23 The C.O.S. Board of Directors, with the aim of promoting the compulsory professional updating of its Professional Operator Members, may decide to accredit courses or internships offered by Member Schools/Bodies, teachers registered in the C.O.S. Professional Teachers' List and by European Associations registered with the E.S.F., recognizing the requirements and characteristics of these subjects as suitable for quality guarantees of continuing education.

ART. 24 The Participating School/Institution or the teacher enrolled in the Professional List of Teachers who wishes to propose (2 per year) his own course or internship valid for the purposes of the compulsory professional updating of the Professional Members of C.O.S., must send to the C.O.S. Board of Directors exhaustive documentation of all the information of the event. This event cannot be held in the two months before and in the two months following the National Conference.

Once the proposal has been examined, the C.O.S. Board of Directors reserves the right to request further information or propose any changes if deemed essential for validation purposes.

The criteria for which the C.O.S. Board of Directors may, or may not, grant the validity for the purposes of the compulsory professional updating of the C.O.S. Professional Members, to the proposed course or internship are:

• undoubted evidence that the course or internship is exclusively organized by the Participating School/Institution or by the Teacher enrolled in the Professional List of Teachers who has requested it;
• inherence of the proposed topic with shiatsu;
• duration of the event;
• cost of the event.

Once the C.O.S. Board of Directors has deliberated on the matter, it will promptly communicate its decision to the participating School/Institution concerned.

In the event of a positive decision, the C.O.S. Board of Directors will give a mandate for the validated course or internship to be made known to all C.O.S. Professional Members by email, publication on the appropriate page of the association's website and on social media.

ART. 25 The Participating School/Institution or the Teacher registered in the Professional List of Teachers who has been recognized as having a course or internship valid for the purposes of the compulsory professional updating of the C.O.S. Professional Members will have the obligation to:

• deliver to the C.O.S. Professional Member who has attended the recognized course or internship, relative certificate of participation in which the phrase "Valid for the purposes of the compulsory professional updating of the C.O.S. (Coordinamento Operatori Shiatsu)" is inserted;
• promptly communicate to the C.O.S. Secretariat the number and names of the C.O.S. Professional Members who have participated in the recognised course or internship.

RULES ON THE C.O.S. EXAMINATION COMMISSION

ART. 26 The C.O.S. Board of Directors elects the C.O.S. Examining Committee, which must be made up of three to six full members and two possible reserves.

The selection criteria with which the Examining Commissioners of the C.O.S. will be appointed are the following:

1. who are Professional Teacher Members.
2. who have been Teacher Trainers for at least three years.

At the same time as the first examination session, the C.O.S. Examining Committee elects a President from among its members.

The Examining Committee directs and guarantees the correct conduct of the entrance exams to the COS and to the Professional List of Practitioners.

ART. 27 The C.O.S. Examining Committee will deliberate validly with the presence of at least three members even during the examination sessions. The resolutions will be taken by simple majority and in the event of a tie, the vote of the President of the C.O.S. Examining Commission will have double and decisive value.

ART. 28 A report will be drawn up of all examination sessions with the outcome of the same, consisting of, for each examinee, the transcription of the topics covered and any questions asked, a summary and collegial evaluation with indications of any discordant opinions. The President of the C.O.S. Examining Committee is responsible for drawing up the minutes.

RULES ABOUT CONSUMER'S COUNTER

ART. 29 Having regard to Law no. 4 of 14 January 2013 called " Regulations in the field of unregulated professions" and having regard to Legislative Decree no. 206 of 6 September 2005, called "Consumer Code", the Coordinamento Operatori Shiatsu establishes the C.O.S. Consumer’s Counter.

ART. 30 The C.O.S. Consumer’s Counter is a free service, of public interest, aimed at consumers and users of the services of C.O.S. and its members.

In particular, the C.O.S. Consumer’s Counter provides answers to the problems raised, adopting proactive, non-conflictual behaviors and pursuing, where necessary and possible, conciliation procedures.

ART. 31 The objectives of the C.O.S. Consumer’s Counter are:

• provide an information service to Consumers, regarding:
  • the discipline of Shiatsu and the quality standards that the C.O.S. requires of its members;
  • the procedures for accessing the lists of Professional Members registered in the C.O.S. Professional List, aimed at requesting professional services from them;
• collect suggestions and reports from Consumers about needs and problems caused to them by C.O.S. Professional Members in the performance of their professional activities;
• offer assistance to the parties, in the event of litigation, paying particular attention to the development of conciliation procedures and out-of-court resolution tools, in accordance with the regulations in force and these C.O.S. Internal Regulations.

ART. 32 The procedures for accessing the services of the C.O.S. Consumer’s Counter, established or renewed at each mandate by the C.O.S. Board of Directors, can be viewed on the website at the following link https://www.shiatsucos.com/associazione/sportello-consumatore

DISCIPLINARY RULES AND CODE OF ETHICS

ART. 33 The Members of the C.O.S. undertake to observe the deontological rules referred to in the following articles. The C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators is the body responsible for monitoring their application. Failure to comply with them will give rise to disciplinary sanctions commensurate with the seriousness and recidivism.

ART. 34 A Member who is guilty of the conduct referred to in art. 9 of the Statute, or in any case of facts that do not conform to the dignity and professional decorum, is subject to disciplinary proceedings before the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators upon a reasoned complaint by the C.O.S. Board of Directors.

The outcome of the disciplinary proceedings must be communicated by the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators to the C.O.S. Board of Directors within 2 days of the conclusion of the investigation.

ART. 35 The disciplinary sanctions envisaged are:

1. the written reminder;
2. suspension from the Association for a period not exceeding two years;
3. the radiation.

ART. 36 The written warning consists of formal reprimand for the transgression committed and is inflicted in cases of abuse or minor shortcomings, which however do not harm decorum and professional dignity

A Member to whom a written warning has been applied shall be punished with suspension of not less than one month if he or she incurs a new offence.

ART. 37 The suspension applies in the event of abuses or serious misdemeanors that harm decorum and professional dignity

The professional may, however, ask the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators to terminate the suspension if the conditions have not been met.

The temporary suspension makes it impossible for the Member sanctioned by this measure, for the entire period of suspension, to use the title of C.O.S. Member, to participate in the initiatives called or promoted by the C.O.S., the right to participate in the social activities of the C.O.S. and in the active and passive electorate.

ART. 38 Expulsion is pronounced against the Member who has, with his conduct, seriously compromised his reputation and the dignity of the professional association.

The expulsion involves the cancellation of the Member from the C.O.S. Professional List.

ART. 39 No disciplinary sanction may be imposed without the person concerned, after contesting the charges, having been invited to appear before the Board of Arbitrators of the C.O.S. with the assignment of a term of not less than 7 days, to defend his reasons also with the assistance of a lawyer

The Member summoned is obliged to appear on the day indicated. If this is not possible, he must promptly notify the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators through the C.O.S. Presidency. Failure to appear at the second call will result in expulsion. This disciplinary sanction will be imposed and deliberated by the C.O.S. Board of Directors at the request of the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators.

ART. 40 At the end of the investigation, the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators expresses an opinion on the violation alleged against the Member

It is the task of the C.O.S. Board of Directors to decide whether to impose the sanction envisaged.

SUSPENSION OF MEMBERSHIP STATUS

ART. 41 A Member who, on the sixtieth day plus a further thirty days (as per the Articles of Association) from the opening of the financial year from 1 January to 31 December, is still not up to date with the payment of the membership fee, will lose the rights relating to the active and passive electorate and all the other rights reserved for active members, including insurance coverage.

If the same Member wishes to be fully included in the list of active members, he must pay the membership fee for the current year and attend a refresher seminar, after which he can obtain the certificate of quality and professional qualification of the services provided (art. 13 L.4/2013).

ART 42 Unjustified non-compliance with the obligation of two-year professional updating, described in art. 24 of these Internal Regulations, entails the loss of visibility in the list of practitioners present on the site and the right to receive the certificate of quality and professional qualification of the services provided (art. 13 L.4/2013).

RULES ON THE TERRITORIAL SECTIONS OF THE C.O.S.

ART. 43 In order to better achieve the statutory aims and objectives, the C.O.S. may avail itself of the establishment of Territorial Sections with offices other than those of the Coordination itself.

ART. 44 The Territorial Sections of the C.O.S. do not have administrative and financial autonomy, but operate through a Territorial Manager, elected by the C.O.S. Board of Directors on the recommendation of the Members of the district in question, in office for two years and re-electable.

ART. 45 The Territorial Managers implement the directives of the C.O.S. and the C.O.S. Members' Assembly within the district and have the following tasks:

• participate, on behalf of the board of directors, in the regional meetings of Colap and then make a written report of the contents to the same
• write articles on the institutional news of their region
• to be a reference figure for the members of their territory and to act as a trait-d'union between them and the board of directors
• They may be in charge of looking for and proposing to the Board of Directors a location for holding a conference.

ART. 46 All the activity of the Territorial Sections of the C.O.S. is released from any formal obligation, except as expressly indicated by the regulations of the C.O.S. The Territorial Sections of the C.O.S. will have to record the specific activities carried out in analogy with the provisions of the C.O.S.

RULES ON THE BOARD OF ARBITRATORS OF THE C.O.S.

ART. 47 The Board of Arbitrators of the C.O.S., after its election, meets to appoint the President, takes over the outgoing Board and establishes a possible calendar of work.

ART. 48 The President of the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators shall convene the Board of Arbitrators as necessary, establishing the agenda and presiding over the meetings. He is also responsible for drawing up the minutes of the meeting.

ART. 49 Requests for the participation of the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators by the Members, the Board of Directors or the C.O.S. President must be sent to the C.O.S. Presidency, who will send them to the President of the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators, who will include them on the agenda of the next meeting.

ART. 50 The Board of Arbitrators of the C.O.S. deliberates validly with the presence of at least the majority of the members. Resolutions are taken by simple majority and in the event of a tie, the vote of the President of the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators will have double and decisive value. In the event of his/her absence, the President of the C.O.S. Board of Arbitrators may delegate another member of the Board to temporarily carry out his/her duties.

RULES ABOUT C.O.S. AUDITOR

ART. 51 The C.O.S. Auditor, if elected, will take care to express his opinion on the economic-financial management of the association.

ART. 52 If the C.O.S. Members' Assembly deems it necessary, it may elect as C.O.S. Auditor, a Professional, even if not a C.O.S. Member, on the indications of the C.O.S. Board of Directors. In this case, the President of the C.O.S. is delegated to agree on the fee.

RULES ON THE C.O.S. SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

ART. 53 The Scientific Committee of the C.O.S., after its election by the C.O.S. Board of Directors, appoints from among its members the President who takes care of the convocation of the same Committee, presides over its meetings and takes care of the drafting of the reports.

The selection criteria with which the representatives of the C.O.S. Scientific Committee will be appointed are:

1. who are professional members with proven experience
2. or who are exponents of professional orders.

ART. 54 The Scientific Committee of the C.O.S. has the task of promoting research and studies, conferences, seminars in order to enhance the initiatives of the Association through the ideas and activities of its members.

In particular, the tasks of the Scientific Committee of the C.O.S. are:

1. Propose, for the scrutiny of the C.O.S. Board of Directors, initiatives, studies or research of a cultural, scientific or voluntary nature;
2. Propose, for the scrutiny of the C.O.S. Board of Directors, topics and speakers for the organization of seminars or conferences, including those aimed at the professional updating of Professional Members;
3. If it deems it necessary, it can express his own opinion, duly motivated, on the topics of the seminars valid for the purposes of the professional updating of Professional Members. In any case, it will be the exclusive task of the C.O.S. Board of Directors to deliberate on the maintenance or variation of the subject in question;
4. Propose, for the scrutiny of the C.O.S. Board of Directors, articles of a scientific and/or cultural nature to be published on the C.O.S. internal and external media communication tools;
5. To express an evaluative opinion on the examination theses of the Professional Members, in order to be published on the C.O.S. website.

ART. 55 The members of the C.O.S. Scientific Committee remain in office for five years and can be re-elected for a maximum of two terms.

ART. 56 The C.O.S. Scientific Committee validly deliberates with the presence of at least the majority of its members. Resolutions are taken by simple majority and in the event of a tie, the vote of the President of the C.O.S. Scientific Committee will have double and decisive value. In the event of his absence, the President of the C.O.S. Scientific Committee may delegate another member of the Committee to temporarily carry out his duties.

ART. 57 If the C.O.S. Scientific Committee deems it necessary, with the consent of the C.O.S. Board of Directors, it may avail itself of the work of one or more Professionals, not C.O.S. Members, for specific skills. In this case, the President of the C.O.S. is delegated to agree on the fee.

RULES GOVERNING REGISTRATION IN THE PROFESSIONAL LIST OF TEACHERS

ART. 58 In order to enhance the additional professional skills of the Professional Members, a Professional List of C.O.S. Teachers is established.

The following may apply for registration in the C.O.S. Professional Teachers' List with the appropriate form:

• Professional Members who also possess a qualification of Teacher Trainer or Level Teacher at one of the Schools/Bodies belonging to the C.O.S. (see articles 63, 64 and 65)
• Teachers of non-participating schools/institutions but in possession of the same parameters as the participating schools
• Teachers who do not belong to any school but are nevertheless qualified by previous teaching and identified by the C.O.S., with at least ten years of teaching experience.

In this regard, it is specified that they are qualified as:

• "Teacher Trainers" those who have completed the direction of an entire training course for at least one year, including the Educational Directors of the Participating Schools;
• "Level Teachers" are those who direct one or more levels of training.

Teachers who want to register in the Professional Teachers List must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a Shiatsu practitioner registered in the C.O.S. professional list
2. To have worked alongside, for a minimum period of 3 (three) years, with teacher trainers in order to acquire the specific contents of the teaching program and the skills necessary to be able to transmit it.
3. Have participated during the three-year training period in at least 2 (two) refresher meetings proposed by the COS for teachers.
4. Know the statutory rules, the internal regulations and the code of ethics of the C.O.S.
5. Know the national and local legislation regarding the practice of shiatsu.
6. Be in possession of a certificate of suitability for teaching issued by the shiatsu school to which they belong.
7. Each shiatsu school, following its own criteria of organization and didactic training, will define, at the end of the three-year period of coaching, to which level of teaching the new teacher will be able to access.

ART. 59 The Professional Member, at the time of application, must attach to the aforementioned form the relevant documentation certifying the qualification of Teacher Trainer or Level Teacher, and in particular:

• educational and work curriculum related to teaching;
• certificate issued by the School/Institution that took care of the training, and which guarantees the level at which he/she is qualified to teach.

ART. 60 The acceptance of the application for registration will be subject to the evaluation and final judgment of the C.O.S. Board of Directors. If accepted, it will be ratified by the same at the first meeting following receipt of the application.

ART. 61 Each Professional Member registered in the C.O.S. Professional Teachers' List, for the purposes of professional updating and maintenance of registration, is required to:

• participate, every two years, in the national conference of the C.O.S.
• participate in teacher continuing education meetings organized by the C.O.S.

Teachers and educational managers who are not up to date automatically lose their registration and will not be able to offer continuing education seminars.

The Professional Member who has lost his or her registration in the C.O.S. Professional Teachers' List may apply for readmission to the List only after attending the C.O.S. national conference and the teachers' continuing education meeting.

RULES GOVERNING THE LIST OF PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS/BODIES

ART. 62 In order to:

• guarantee the professional quality acquired regarding the teaching of Shiatsu by the Professional Members registered in the C.O.S. Teachers' Register,
• guarantee a valid quality and quantity of proposals regarding the compulsory professional updating of C.O.S. Professional Members,
• delegate the formalities relating to the bureaucratic operations of registration for admission to the exams for registration in the C.O.S. Professional List,

the List of C.O.S. Participating Schools/Bodies is established.

ART. 63 A Shiatsu School or a Participating Institution can apply for membership of the C.O.S. only if it meets the following requirements:

• have completed a three-year training course or in any case for a total of at least 650 hours consisting of at least 500 hours of face-to-face shiatsu plus 150 hours of guided and certified practices;
• have content that is consistent with the training for the entire Shiatsu process, using appropriate techniques to implement it effectively;
• implement an adequate progression in the introduction of the practice and theoretical aspects of shiatsu to effectively reach the completion of the pre-established training process;
• use tools and methods that make teaching effective: criteria for verifying learning, adequate internship, support for the student to introduce him to the role of professional;
• that the School/Institution has its own head of school who is the didactic referent, an expert practitioner;
• that the didactic contact person has been a teacher trainer for at least 10 years and has the ability and preparation to conduct a complete training course;
• that its educational contact person takes charge of the adequate training of its teachers and proposes appropriate updates;
• that is autonomous and visible from an administrative and fiscal point of view.

ART. 64 A Shiatsu School/Participating Institution specialized in post-diploma training programs can also apply for membership in the C.O.S. if it meets the following requirements:

• that the School/Institution has its own head of school who is the didactic referent, an expert practitioner;
• that the didactic contact person has been a teacher trainer for at least 10 years and has the ability and preparation to conduct a complete training course;
• that the modules, seminars, post-diploma training courses proposed by the Participating School/Institution have a connotation of specific and specialized preparation and that they meet the parameters expressed in articles 25-26-27 of these Regulations;
• that is autonomous and visible from an administrative and fiscal point of view.

ART. 65 With a view to synergy and cooperation, the Schools/Bodies belonging to the COS are invited to:

• register their teachers, Trainers and/or Level teachers in the COS Teachers' Register according to the rules established by these Internal Regulations;
• direct practitioners trained at their own school/institution to take the exam for registration in the professional list of the C.O.S.

The acceptance of applications for registration in the List of Participating Schools/Bodies is subject to the final judgment of the C.O.S. Board of Directors.

ANNEX 1 TO THE INTERNAL REGULATIONS OF THE C.O.S. COORDINAMENTO OPERATORI SHIATSU

By resolution of the Board of Directors dd. 17 December 2015 it is established that starting from 1 January 2016 the membership fee will be adjusted to € 150.00 (one hundred and fifty).

ANNEX 2 TO THE INTERNAL REGULATIONS OF THE C.O.S. COORDINAMENTO OPERATORI SHIATSU

By resolution of the Board of Directors dd. 16 October 2020 It is established that starting from 1 January 2021 the membership fee will be reduced to € 100.00 (one hundred) as a result of the economic emergency due to Covid.

By resolution of the Board of Directors dd. 8 November 2021 it is established that for the year 2022 the membership fee is reduced to € 100.00 (one hundred) as a result of the economic emergency due to Covid.
